Dorothy Clive Garden to host popular Plant Hunters' Fair this weekend The Dorothy Clive Garden will be hosting the popular Plant Hunters’ Fair on Sunday 25th and Monday 26th August 2013. This special fund raising event, which is now in its seventh year will feature sixteen specialist nurseries with a national standing as well as small local plant growers.

New to the event in 2013 are: Architectural Impact (Grasses and high impact shrubs), Botanica (trees and shrubs), Fairfield Garden Bygones (Vintage garden tools), John Gillies Rare Woody Plants and (hostas and ferns). Plantagogo, Heuchera specialists and Chelsea Gold Medalists have also made room in their busy show schedule to come along.

All plant lovers will find something for their gardens whatever the aspect, and the nursery owners will be on hand to offer a wealth of information and advice for your garden.

Deputy Curator, Margaret Barry, said 'August is an excellent time to visit the garden with our tropical borders awash with colour, vibrancy and ideas to take home. A riot of colour is provided by plants such as salvias, dahlias, crocosmia, cannas and ricinus. Also our new Edible Woodland has responded to the sun and showers, reaching great heights and producing excellent fruits and vegetables’.

Admission to the special fund raising event and garden will be £3.00 per person. Children from 0-4 are admitted for free and children between years 5-17 are admitted for £2.00.

The garden tea room, which is situated in the heart of the garden, will be serving breakfast from 10am followed by sandwiches, homemade soup, freshly baked scones and cake throughout the day.
