Walk the Seven Wonders of the Oswestry Hills

22nd August 2012

Discover the seven nature reserves in this beautiful part of Shropshire, close to the Welsh border, on Sunday 16th September. The Seven Wonders walk is a delightful ramble through the uplands west of Oswestry with the option of both 7 and 14-mile routes.

The paths are meticulously signed, dogs are welcome and the views spectacular. Delicious cakes and tea are provided midway and at the end.   A minibus will transport those walking the 7-mile route back to the start.

Walkers need to book in at Trefonen Village Hall between 8am and 10am for the 14 mile walk and between 8am and 11am for a choice of 7-mile walks. If you wish to walk with a guide or in a group, please book in at Trefonen ready to set off at 9am.

The routes follow public rights of way across rolling farmland between woods, fen and common land between the Trust’s seven nature reserves in the area.

Walkers should bring their own lunch and wear appropriate clothing. Strong footwear is recommended. Out of respect to the various landowners along the route, please keep dogs on leads. Dogs get their own treat of dog biscuits when they get to the refreshment points.

Entrance fees are £8 if booked and paid in advance or £10 on the day. If you wish to walk with a group and a guide, please book in at Trefonen ready to set off at 9am.

This is a fund-raising walk for Shropshire Wildlife Trust arranged by the Oswestry Branch. For full details please see www.shropshirewildlifetrust.org.uk/sevenwonders.  To book your place ring 01743 284280.
